Submissions for the INDO PACIFIC 2022 Innovation Pitchfest have now closed, with 20 innovators from around the region preparing to present their ideas at the event.
The Innovation Pitchfest provides a platform for innovators to present new products and research projects to an international audience of potential customers, partners and investors and will be held on Thursday 12 May 1000-1145 in the Port Theatrette on the exhibition floor of INDO PACIFIC 2022.
Defence Science Institute Engagement Manager Craig Butler, who is part of the team organising the Pitchfest, said entries received did an excellent job in demonstrating Australian innovation over a range of ideas and research collaborations.
"We were very impressed by the number of high quality submissions we received for Pitchfest 2022," Mr Butler said. "We were specifically looking for innovations for the Navy's Warfare Innovation Branch that address three key technology challenges, and I believe Pitchfest will provide some novel ideas to consider."
The 20 selected will now prepare to present to a judging panel featuring prominent experts from Australian Industry and Defence, including a Science Director from the Office of Naval Research and the Royal Australian Navy’s Warfare Innovation Branch, which will look closely at pitches that address specific topics:
The Innovation Pitchfest is organised by the Defence Science Institute (DSI) in partnership with INDO PACIFIC 2022 organiser, AMDA Foundation Limited, the SA Defence Innovation Partnership (DIP), NSW Defence Innovation Network (DIN), WA's Defence Science Centre (DSC), and Queensland Defence Alliance (QDSA).
The Innovation Pitchfest will be held at INDO PACIFIC 2022 on Thursday 12 May 1000-1145 in the Port Theatrette, located on the exhibition floor. Registration is free
