The Royal Australian Navy and Indo Pacific organiser, AMDA Foundation, will come together once again to present The Rear Admiral David Holthouse, AO, RAN, Memorial Award for Engineering.
The memorial scholarship is a joint venture between Navy and
AMDA in recognition of the late Rear Admiral and will go to a deserving member of the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) engineering team.
Presented by Navy as part of the Indo-Pacific Sea
Power Conference, and with scholarship funding provided by AMDA, the
memorial scholarship acknowledges excellence in naval engineering and
aims to further the profession via
The AMDA Board has this year elected to increase the prize money from $10,000 to $15,000 to maximise the professional development opportunities for the scholarship recipient.
Admiral Holthouse joined the RAN in 1950 and had a highly distinguished career with a primary focus on Naval Engineering, before retiring from full-time service in 1993.
He was also the first Chairman of Maritime Australia Limited (MAL), a
previous iteration of AMDA, a position he held for more than a decade until his
retirement in 2011. During his tenure, he was instrumental
in establishing the Indo Pacific series of expositions.

that of an innovative engineer with a passion for higher education in the
